The holiday season has officially arrived in Philadelphia! On November 13th, a grand 50-foot Albie Concolor White Fir tree, which traveled 205 miles from Hornell, New York, was set up outside City Hall as the centerpiece of the cityโs festive display. The tree, estimated to be 55 years old, was met with excitement and admiration by residents who eagerly awaited its arrival.
The Welcome America press conference presented their holiday kickoff filled with lively performances, including CAPโs very own! Mr. Shelley and nine of our talented 6th grade students, who shared the stage with Officer Velasquez and the Philadelphia Police Department, performed and brought joy and holiday spirit to all. Our CAP singers have also been selected to perform at this year's Thanksgiving parade and the city's tree-lighting, marking yet another high note for the city's talented youth.
The highlight of the season, the annual tree lighting ceremony, is scheduled for Thursday, December 5, at 7 p.m., where residents and visitors will gather to witness the tree come to life with dazzling lights and decorations. This event marks the start of a season filled with holiday magic, uniting the community in a celebration of warmth, music, and cheer.
